wilst watching {Wild Wild West} featuring the infinitely talented {Will Smith} last night I came up with another idea for my thesis project.

{Idea}
going out west
You're probably wondering what the hell I'm talking about, right? I'm about to lay down some truth
I live on the border of farm country out in Beaverton {no I don't live on a farm} and there is a lot to be explored as close as one mile west of my house. If you go farther you'll probably even run into some abandoned barns.
Why would I want to do this?
People in the city {and suburbs} forget about and disregard what was once a very common lifestyle in America {farming, living in the country, etc}
I want to explore and bring to light relics of this lifestyle as well as people who are still happily living it.

that barn looks exactly like one by my house where I grew up. :) This sounds like an interesting idea- any ideas on how to present the concept?
ReplyDeletenot sure yet. I feel like a zine might be fun. I guess it would be more like a journal chronicling my experience. I think photos will be involved for sure though.
ReplyDeletei like this idea because the rest of the country still thinks we live like this! i had a guy from PA ask me if we had running water. maybe it could talk about the cross-country misconceptions we have of each other, like what west coasters think of east coasters and vice versa.
